Review: Got the large and it wasn't big enough for the pugs, so got the xl and works much better. I'd advise measuring your dog, and thinking about a little bit of breathing room, the large was cutting into them, so we needed an extra piece of Velcro. Take the measurement and use a tape measure around your dog, and see if it's cutting into them, or you can get two fingers in, like you would a dog collar. The xl, allowed the breathing room, without cutting into them, and the breathing room, doesn't mean it's too big or slips and slides, it fits, just doesn't cut into them.
